Over the weekend I had the pleasure of doing a clean install on my Cube. (Apple, I love the specs section, but I am not crazy about the PDFs, especially if you just need to see one stat) Anyways, I thought I would share what I have on my computer besides the standard install that comes with Mac OS X 10.3. (Yeah, that’s right, family pack)
- browsers.
- FireFox.
- Netscape.
- OmniWeb. (One has to give respect to a company that produced the first OS X (Server) browser.)
- fun stuff.
- Eyeballs. (Something I have carried around with me since the Mac OS 7 days.
- iLife ’04. (Been too lazy to order ’05
- growl.
- Mac Tracker. (Rick?)
- development/web software.
- Apple xCode.
- lynx. (How Apple decided to not include this when it includes Apache is beyond me)
- Most recent version (stable) of PHP.
- Most recent version (stable) of MySQL.
- Dare I say the most recent version of Perl soon?
- Adobe GoLive.
- Text Wrangler.
- GraphicConverter.
- Gimp.
- phpMyAdmin.
- “office applications”.
- Open Office.
- Palm Desktop.
- AppleWorks. (go ahead laugh, but I get the last laugh thinking of you using MS Office)
- utilites/misc.
- Mac GNU Privacy Guard.
- RsyncX.
- X11 (for Gimp and Open Office).
- Carbon Copy Cloner.
I am sure I am missing some other stuff, but those are the basics that come to mind. Fun stuff.
