One of my personal and professional mantras continues to stand almost any test. Simpler = better.
One of my and (my kids) favorite foods to eat during Thanksgiving are my grandmother’s homemade noodles. When I was little it was always an incredible treat to eat them and it makes me very happy my kids feel the same way. Best yet – it is not some complex recipe or even something that is hard to make.
The recipe calls for 1 egg, a pinch of salt, 1 cup of flour, and a 1/2 eggshell of water. That would typically make a small batch but in our house – I triple that because I know we will likely eat one whole batch raw before the noodles ever make it off the counter and into a pot to cook.
I think sometimes we try and overcomplicate things. If you ever find yourself in this position, step back and remember not everything complex is good and not everything good is complex.
