I do not know what it is but sand fascinates me.
I usually bring sand home with me from our adventures. I put it in glass jars, label them, and then on cold winter days I open them up, feel the sand, and think back to walking on the very sand I collected.
I have never felt more amazing sand than the sand in Kauai. It is smooth tiny pieces of coral, lava, etc that has a darker more orange color. Each handful is different and amazing to look at.
While on the island of Hawaii, we also trekked to see a green sand beach, as well as drove to a black sand beach. We also saw a beach where the coral and lava rock were still large and not broken down yet to be more like the sand on Kauai. On Kauai – we visited one of our favorite beaches – the sea glass beach, where a large amount of sea glass is mixed in to the beach sand as well.
Overall – this was a great trip for seeing a lot of diverse beaches/sand and I greatly enjoyed not only seeing it, but the adventure to get there as well.

I love anything that makes Jen want to go to the beach!
